Why the Seahawks Won

The Seahawks won in a close game against the Panthers 30-24. The Seahawks started the game strong scoring a touchdown on their first 3 drives getting a quick 20-7 lead.

But then both teams punted twice. The Panthers then marched down the field at the end of the half, looking to score and make it close, but just then Bobby Wagner comes up with a great interception stopping the Panthers from scoring.

During their first possession of the second half, the Panthers had a nice drive and made a field goal. After a nice stop by the Panthers defense, the Seahawks’ K.J. Wright gets an interception on a very bad throw. On the second play of the Seattle drive the Hawk’s tried a trick play with Josh Gordon throwing the ball but he threw it right to Tre Boston for an easy pick. On the second play of the Panthers drive K.J. gets another pick making it 3 interceptions in 5 plays.

Seattle then gets a touchdown and field goal making it 30-10, Seattle. But the Panthers weren’t out of the game yet. They got 2 touchdowns but the Seahawks ran down the clock and got the close win.

Players of the Game

  • Russell Wilson
  • K.J Wright
  • Chris Carson

Russell Wilson had a great game, passing for 286 yards and 2 touchdowns with a 137.7 passer rating.

K.J. Wright surprised everyone with 2 interceptions, even though before the game he only had 3 interceptions in his whole career.

Chris Carson had a career night rushing for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns averaging 5.5 yards per carry

The Seahawks are now the 2nd seed in the NFC, but for the fifth time in his career Josh
Gordon got suspended, indefinitely for the rest of the season. After all these suspensions I don’t think Josh Gordon may ever get to play another snap in his NFL career.
